Our annual game for the John Howard trophy against the Lancs & Cheshire League was played on Wednesday 19th March 2025. After a 1-1 draw the L&C won on penalties.

The annual game against the Lancs & Cheshire League was played on Wednesday 13th March at Avro Football Club.

On a wet and blustery evening the LAL side ran out 5-2 winners. Goals came from Cayne Hanley (2), Alex Chu, Josh Emmett and Corey Adams.

Our Representative Side played their annual game against our friends from the Lancs & Cheshire league on Monday 3rd April. The result was 2-1 to the LAL (Ryan Talbot x 2). Our Representative Side's previous game was on Tuesday 24th January 2023 away against the Liverpool County Premier League in our annual fixture for the Lord Mayor's Shield. 

We found ourselves 3-0 down before half-time against a sharper LCPL side. There were no more goals in the second half.

Earlier Games

Game v Lancs & Cheshire League - Wednesday 20th April 2022 at the County Ground, the HQ of the Lancashire FA.

Although the side lost 3-1 it was an enjoyable game.

​The game celebrated 100 years of games between our two leagues and the prize was the John Howard Trophy. There was a minute’s silence before the game in memory of John Howard.
