Disappointment for Mostonians as they go out on penalties in the semi-final. Despite conceding 2 goals in the opening 15 minutes, Mostonians fought back to level in an exciting first half. No further goals in a second half when neither side looked like winning and to the penalty shoot-out.

Bolton Wyresdale and O.Boltonians finally complete their League Cup tie and produced a 9 goal thriller. Bolts were never behind, but Wyresdale kept coming first from 4-2 then from 5-3, but in the end could not find a fifth. In the Premier Rossendale kept up the chase with a 2-1 win at Rochdale St Clements, O Mancunians went down 3-1 at Horwich St Mary Victoria, Failsworth Dynamos were 3-2 at O.Blackburnians while Bury GSOB and Prestwich shared 4 goals.
In Division One Thornleigh stay top after a 1-0 win with Rochdale St Clements Reserves, while Valley were 4-0 with O.Boltonians Reserves and Whitworth Valley were 2-1 with Tottington. Radcliffe Town top of Division Two after a 6-0 win at Ainsworth while Horwich RMI were 3-0 with Horwich St Mary Reserves.
Blackrod Town Reserve go second in Division Three after a 4-1 win with O.Boltonians ‘A’ while Oldham Hulmeians are third after a 3-2 win with Rochdale St Clements ‘A’. In the Premier Rossendale got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win at Bury GSOB, while O.Mancunians were 2-0 with Rochdale St Clements, and Moston kept up their chase with a 1-0 win with Horwich St Mary Victoria. Howe Bridge Mills suffered a 1-0 loss with Roach Dynamos, while Prestwich went down 4-1 at Failsworth Dynamos.
In Division One the top two both won, Thornleigh were 2-0 at Accrington Amateurs while Rochdale St Clements Reserves had a similar score at Ashtonians. Bolton Wyresdale edged Hesketh Casuals 3-2. In the Premier the battle between the top two saw O.Boltonians come out 3-1 with O.Mancuniasn. Games in hand, but Rossendale dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Horwich St Mary Victoria, Rochdale St Clements edged Howe Bridge Mills 3-2, Bury GSOB and Roach Dynamos shared 4 goals and O.Blackburnians and Prestwich were goalless. Mostonians kept up there push for the title with a narrow 1-0 win with Little Lever.
In Division One, leaders Thornleigh were 2-1 at Ashtonians while Rochdale St Clements Reserves go second after a 3-0 win at Valley, Whitworth Valley dropped points after a 3-3 draw with Accrington Amateurs.
Radcliffe Town’s 4-0 win at Little Lever Reserves keeps them top of Division Two, while Chaddertonians 6-4 with Littleborough and Horwich RMI’s 5-1 at Bolton Nomads are hot on the heels.

Thornleigh stay top after a 1-0 win at Bolton Wyresdale and Accrington Amateurs were 4-1 winners at Wardle.

In the Premier, Prestwich upset Rossendale again with a 2-1 away victory, while second place Little Lever came away empty handed after a 3-2 loss at Failsworth Dynamos. Mostonians could only draw 2-2 against O.Blackburnians and are 4th, while O.Mancunians 2-0 win with Horwich St Mary Victoria keeps them 3rd.
Thornleigh top Division One after a 5-1 win with Accrington Amateurs, while second place Hesketh Casuals went down 5-3 at Wardle. The battle at the top of Division Two continues, Chaddertonians were 4-3 winners at O.Mancunians Reserves, while Radcliffe Town were 5-0 at Bury GSOB reserves. In Division Three 3rd place Lymm went down 3-1 to Rossendale Reserves.

Rossendale and Mostonians use floodlights to try to reduce the number of games they have to play. Despite taking the lead in the first half Rossendale were unable to stop Mostonians in the second half who ran out 3-1 winners and move into 3rd place in the Premier. Both sides have games in hand over leaders O.Boltonians.

In the Premier, Mostonians turned the table on O.Boltonians, yet again, in a 2-1 win, while second place Little Lever were held to a 1-1 draw at Blackrod Town. Horwich St Mary Victoria and Failsworth Dynamos shared 2 goals, while Prestwich put 5 past Roach Dynamos in a 5-1 win and O.Blackburnians scored 9 against Howe Bridge Mills.
Not a good day for the top two in Division One, leaders Hesketh Casuals going down 2-0 at third place Rochdale St Clements Reserves, while Valley went down 1-0 at Thornleigh. Tottington and Failsworth Dynamo Reserves shared 4 goals.
The top two in Division Two, Chaddertonians and Radcliffe Town, shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, while 3rd place Little Lever Reserves were held to a 3-3 draw with O.Mancunians Reserves. Oldham Hulmeians extended their lead in Division Three with a 2-1 win at Thornleigh, while 2nd place Radcliffe Boys were held to 3-3 draw with O.Boltonians ‘A’. In Division Four Chaddertonians Reserves were edged 5-4 by Whitworth Valley Reserves. Leaders in Division 5, Horwich RMI Reserve, suffered a 3-1 setback with Thornleigh Reserves, while 2nd place Tottington Reserves were 7-2 at Rochdale St Clements ‘B’.

In the Premier, Mostonians good run continued with a 7-2 win over O.Mancunians, while 2nd place Little Lever were 3-1 at Horwich St Mary Victoria, while Rossendale were held 2-2 with O.Blackburnians. Blackrod Town were 4-0 with Bury GSOB.
Elsewhere Bolton Wyresdale went down 1-0 at Ashtonians, while leaders in Division One Hesketh Casuals, edged Failsworth Dynamo Reserves 3-2, second place Valley were 4-1 with Accrington Amateurs. Winter continues to disrupt football. Despite leading the Premier, Bolts suffered a 6 goal reverse against Mostonians whose 3 goals in each half reflected their domination in the 6-1 win. O.Mancunians move into 2nd position after an 80 win at Howe Bridge Mills. Failsworth Dynamos and Bury GSOB shared 4 goals.
Elsewhere Bolton Wyresdale were 4-0 with O.Boltonians Reserves, Ainsworth 5-1 with Bolton Nomads, Chaddertonians Reserves 2-1 with Wardle Reserves and O.Mancunians ‘A’ went down 5-2 to Lymm Reserves.

Another poor day, although averaging 6 goals a game there was something for some spectators to shout about. Failsworth Dynamos put 8 passed Howe Bridge Mills in 8-1 win, while O.Mancunians were 2-1 with O.Blackburnians. Little Lever’s good run ended when they suffered a 4-2 reverse with Prestwich.
Elsewhere Hesketh Casuals were 4-0 with Wardle, Blackrod Town Reserves put 9 passed Hesketh Casuals Reserves and O.Blackburnians ‘A’ put 7 passed Howe Bridge Mills Reserves.

Failsworth Dynamos make it through to the semi-finals of the Manchester Amateur Cup after a 7 goal thriller with Waterloo Juniors. After trading early goals, Failsworth went ahead 2-1 and after the break looked to be safe at 3-1. Waterloo came back to level with 10 to go, but Failsworth weathered the storm and scored the winner with 5 minutes remaining.
In the Premier the bottom two both lost, Bury GSOB 1-0 with Mostonians and Howe Bridge Mills 9-1 with Little Lever. Elsewhere Thornleigh beat Hesketh Casuals 3-1 and Radcliffe Town were 3-2 with O.Blackburnians Reserves. In Division Four, Bolton Wyresdale Reserves top the table after an 8-1 win at Little Lever ‘A’, while Whitworth Valley reserves are second despite a 2-2 draw with Wardle Reserves, while Oldham Hulmeians Reserves go third after a 2-1 win over Radcliffe Town ‘A’.

In the Premier the top three all drew. O.Boltonians with a last minute goal shared the points in a 1-1 draw with 3rd place O.Mancunians. Another last minute goal secured the point for O.Blackburnians at 2nd place Little Lever in a 3-3 draw. Failsworth Dynamos failed to get a point from Rochdale St Clements after going 3 down in the first 10 minutes, eventually losing 4-3.
Elsewhere there were wins for Accrington Amateurs 5-4 with Wardle, Howe Bridge Mills Reserves 5-4 with Lymm. In Division Four the top two won, Bolton Wyresdale Reserves 8-2 with Thornleigh ‘A’ and Whitworth Valley Reserves 8-0 at Lymm Reserves.

Congratulations to Mostonians on reaching the semi-final of the LFA Amateur Cup after a 6-1 win with Ribble Wanderers. Bolton Wyresdale’s run came to end with a 4-1 loss at Burnley Belvedere.

League action restarted, despite the weather, after Christmas break. O.Boltonians New Year saw them go down 3-1 at Little Lever. A strong performance from Little Lever saw them take a 2-0 half-time advantage and despite some second half pressure hold-on for a fine 3-1 victory. Rossendale narrowed the gap at the top with a 2-1 home win with Horwich St Mary Victoria. O.Mancunians are 4th after a 4-3 win with Mostonians. Bottom of the table struggles saw Bury GSOB claim all three points at Howe Bridge Mills with a 4-1 win and O.Blackburnians were 3-1 winners at Prestwich.
Elsewhere, Valley were high scorers with a 10-2 win at Mostonians Reseeves, while Chaddertonians consolidated there position at top of Division Two with a 3-1 win at Horwich St Mary Victoria Reserves. Oldham Hulmeians top Division Three with a 2-1 win over Howe Bridge Mills Reserves. In Division Four Whitworth Valley Reserves edged O.Mancunians ‘A’ 4-3 and Oldham Hulmeians Reserves were 5-0 at Lymm Reserves.

Failsworth Dynamos progress to the quarter-finals of the Manchester Amateur Cup after a 4-0 win at North Walkden. 3 goals in the first half proved enough to counter any second-half pressure and a fine strike near the end rounded off a fine performance.
No change at the top of the Premier as O.Boltonians took three more points after a 5-1 with Howe Bridge Mills. Elsewhere Prestwich lost 4-0 at Blackrod Town, Rochdale St Clements 2-0 with O.Blackburnians and O.Mancunians go fourth after a 2-1 win at Bury GSOB.

Winter rains take their toll on League programme, but two games survived in the Premier. In a ding-dong battle at Little Lever, it was Rossendale who came out on top, 4-3 to reclaim 2nd spot. Little Lever opened the scoring with a spectacular strike from outside the box, but Rossendale squared at the half. Rossendale hit back in the second half only for Little Lever to level things with a penalty. 3 more goals but it was Rossendale who edged this 7goal thriller. 50% success in the LFA Amateur Cup. Through to the quarter-finals are Bolton Wyresdale and Mostonians. Wyresdale had a fine 2-1 away victory at Longshaw FC and Mostonians proved too strong for Barrow Celtic with two goals in each half to run out 4-0 winners. In the other ties Prestwich went down 4-1 to Burnley Belvedere and Bury SOB were 5-3 down to AFC Sherwood.

LFA Amateur Cup day saw the holders O.Boltonians go out 3-2 to Barrow Celtic. There were losses for Howe Bridge Mills, 5-1 with AFC Sherwood, O.Mancunians 2-0 to Burnley Belvedere. Through to the next round are Bolton Wyresdale 1-0 at Whalley Range, Prestwich 2-0 with Galgate and Bury GSOB 3-0 at Standish St Wilfreds.
In the League, Failsworth Dynamos were 3-2 with Blackrod, Rochdale St Clements were 3-1 at Horwich St Mary Victoria, Rossendale 2-0 with O.Blackburnians and Little Lever beat Roach Dynamos.
In Division One, 1-0 away win at Rochdale St Clements Reserves saw Whitworth Valley go 3rd and a similar score for Valley at Accrington Amateurs saw them go 4th. Thornleigh edged Wardle 3-2.

In the League, Failsworth Dynamos were 2-1 with O.Blackburnians, Little Lever 7-0 with Howe Bridge Mills and Blackrod 5-1 at Horwich St Mary Victoria. In Division One there were wins for Failsworth Dynamo Reserves 4-1 at Accrington Amateurs, Wardle 5-4 at Ashtonians and Hesketh Casauals 3-2 with Thornleigh.

LFA and Manchester Amateur Cup day. Failsworth Dynamos were 5-1 with Chorltonians Villa. In the Lancashire Cup, O.Boltonians were 6-2 at Blackrod and there were wins for Prestwich, 6-1 at Goose Green, , Bolton Wyresdale , 3-2 at AFC Preston, Bury GSOB, 4-0 at Ormskirk and Howe Bridge Mills were 3-2 with Leigh Foundry.
Whitworth Valley suffered a 6-2 reverse with Bolton United,, and after drawing 4-4 with Croft, Thornleigh went out 4-3 on penalties as did Horwich St Mary Victoria after drawing 1-1 with Mostonians, but lost 4-3 on penalties.
Saturday 30th SeptemberIf it could go wrong - it did go wrong. Meet 11, all present and correct. No coach, 10 mins away, 20 mins away, it has broken down. You could not make it up. In the end set off in 5 cars about 1h late, very quick lunch arrive about 2.15 and heavens decided to open. In the end, well beaten by a very good side, but little bounced well in the periods of the game when LAL were in control. Congratulations to all for their efforts and willingness to play football on an excellent surface, which held up extremely well despite the rain. Many thanks to the Staffordshire League for their hospitality and our best wishes to them in the future rounds of the inter-league cup.

In Division One, Rochdale St Clements Reserves continue to set the pace with a 2-1 win at Hesketh Casuals, while Whitworth Valley’s 4-3 win at Thornleigh keeps them in view. Valley suffered a 2-1 reverse against Mostonians Reserves. Ashtonians were 3-2- over Accrington Amateurs and Wardle and O.Boltonians Reserves shared 6 goals.
In Division Two, leaders Little Lever Reserves were 1-0 at Littleborough, 2nd place Radcliffe Town were 2-0 with Bolton Nomads and Chaddertonians were 4-1 over Horwich St Mary Reserves 4-1 and share 3rd place.

Amateur Cup day. Two games go to penalties, Accrington Amateurs losing out to Horwich St Marys Victoria 3-1, after a 1-1 90 minute score, Bury GSOB overcoming Marsh United 4-1, after a 2-2 score. Wins in normal time for Rochdale St Clements 4-1 with Shevington, O.Mancunians 2-1 at Gidlow Athletic, Howe Bridge Mills 3-2 with Valley, Roach Dynamos 4-3 at Langho, O.Boltonians 2-1 at Newman College, Blackrod 3-2 at Rishton United. Prestwich were 2-1 with Moston Brook and Radcliffe Town, 5-2 with St Judes.
Going out are Little Lever, 2-1 at Hurlston Hall, Wardle, 2-1 with Hindley Town, Chaddertonians, 5-0 with Burnley Belvedere, Littleborough 5-0 with Broughton Amateurs. In the Manchester competition, Failsworth Dynamos were 7-1 with George.
Saturday 9th September
Rains wipe out much of league programme. In Division One goals galore. Accrington Amateurs and Rochdale St Clements Reserves served up a seven goal thriller which Clements edged by the odd goal to stay top. Seven goals were the order of the day as Failsworth Dynamo Reserves toppled Mostonians Reserves 7-0 and Wardle with a 7-3 win over Tottington.
In Division Two, leaders Horwich St Marys Victoria Reserves were 5-1 at O.Mancunians Reserves, Radcliffe Town 6-0 with Ainsworth and Little Lever Reserves 3-1 with Bury GSOB Reserves. Elsewhere, Howe Bridge Mills Reserves went down 2-1 to Radcliffe Town Reserves, O.Mancunians ‘A’ and Bolton Wyresdale Reserves shared 8 goals and Lymm ‘A’ were 3-0 with O.Mancunians ‘B’. In the Cheshire Cup, Lymm went down 4-1 to Ellesmere port Town.

In the Premier, Rossendale’s fine start to the season continued with a 4-2 win at Failsworth Dynamos, but O.Boltonians 6-2 win at Howe Bridge Mills keeps them top. Mostonians and Roach Dynamos shared 4 goals and O.Blackburnians and Rochdale St Clements shared 6, while Horwich St Mary Victoria were 3-1 at Little Lever.
In Division One, Valley slip to second after a 3-3 draw with Bolton Wyresdale. An excellent performance from both sides. Valley twice took the lead only for Wyresdale to equalise and go on to take a 3-2 halftime lead. Valley earned a second half equaliser to see the teams share the points. Rochdale St Clements Reserves go top after a 1-0 win over Thornleigh, while Accrington Amateurs are 3rd after a 9-2 win at O.Boltonians Reserves.

In the Premier, top of the table clash between Rochdale St Clements and O.Boltonians produced a free scoring game and 8 goals, but points shared. Mostonians got off the mark with a 4-2 win at Howe Bridge Mills and newly promoted Rossendale were 1-0 at Roach Dynamos. Elsewhere O.Blackburnians and Blackrod shared 4 goals as did, Prestwich and Horwich St Mary Victoria.
In Division One, Valley go top after an 8-3 win over Wardle, Accrington Amateurs are 2nd after their 5-1 win at Tottington. Bolton Wyresdale are 4th with a 4-1 win over Failsworth Dynamo Reserves. League season kicked off, in less than seasonal weather. In the Premier it was Rochdale St Clements who found their scoring boots with a 9-1 win over Mostonians. O.Boltonians also started well with a 3-0 win over Blackrod, but Failsworth Dynamos had to settle for a point at Roach Dynamo with a 2-2 draw. Elsewhere there were wins for Little Lever 3-1 with Bury GSOB, Rossendale 3-2 with Howe Bridge Mills, O.Mancunians 3-0 with Prestwich, O.Blackburnians 4-2 with Horwich St Mary Victoria.

The season kicked off with the annual game between Premier champions and Cup winners. Despite early Failsworth pressure it was Radcliffe who took a deserved lead. Failsworth equalised, but struggled against a well-organised Radcliffe team who got a second just before the break. However, there was just enough time for another Failsworth attack which resulted in a penalty and they turned round all square. The intensity of the first half produced a quieter second half and despite creating a few chances, Failsworth were unable to convert and the Cup was settled with a penalty shoot-out which Failsworth won 4-3.
